Rejection (Oct 2012) Poem by Nabeela Black

Rejection (Oct 2012)

Passed up once again!
After unexpected full out open hearted offering,
got only a heart slam.
Proverbs say there's a lid for every pot.
But I call the kettle black
and be satisfied with chillin
Cuz cookin fires always get put out.
All I wanted was to have a normal life
After sleeping in streets, cars and dive bars, steppin up to cesspool motels and with better luck a sugardaddy's clean home bed;
Lifted myself above being beat up, bounced, disavowed, raped, cleaned out and kicked outta bed
Dumb blonde still hoped against hope
to experience God's ordained love plan b4 giving up the ghost.
But this forever turns out to be my life's storysong:
Rejection.
Yeah Jesus loves me,
so I guess must just have the wrong desire of heart -
Half a century of waiting, think I'd get a clue.
Ok, Amen and Amen.
Givin up on earthly love You BETTER fly me to higher realms with You.
(or at least to Pakistan to end my story living for the glory of You)
