Remains In Question Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Remains In Question

Rating: 5.0

I wanted her to say “no”
From heart and push me to “go”
But she did not, instead she cried
As I had completely lied

It is faith that was broken
Trust was completely shaken
That broke her from inside
The rift was so wide

It was very late on my part
To retrieve lost ground with fresh start
She breathed heavily and just stared
I stood motionless and failed to dare

She wanted me to say something
To remove her fear and misgivings
But I had feet on wet ground
So shaky and confidence was never to be found

I stood there with guilty mind
She was still looking at me very kind
I thought of her confidence with my betrayal
How could I do its quick dismissal?

Was she giving me fair trial?
Anther chance for offering no denial
I grasped it quickly and offered apology
Expressed regret with sincere sorry

She was lion hearted girl
It was now her turn
She seized golden chance
Offered me reprieve at once

Such is quality of great love
Person must hold sincerely and believe
It holds well even in adverse situation
As love then never remains in question
