Remembering 26/11 Mumbai Poem by Ruturaj Zadbuke

Remembering 26/11 Mumbai

There are celebrations here and parties there,
Seems, they've forgotten that unnatural fear
When Hope was meagre
And terrorists were raping my city so dear.

Seems they have forgotten that embarrassing time
When my leaders committed the most sinister of crimes
They humiliated my nation already shook with fear
& said whatever had happened was small & meagre.

Seems they've forgotten the true heroes who died
Salaskar & Karkare who dared to fight
And the hoteliers who rescued at the cost of their lives
The innocent guests who would have otherwise died

Seems they've forgotten that we haven't checked the terror yet
And if we don't do it soon, I it will be surely a thing to regret
We may be bombed here & we may be gunned there.
If we don't act, we are sure to live and die in fear.

So my fellow citizens I bow my head low
& pray to you all please don't let the offenders go
