Remembering You On Your 21st Poem by Tessa Gaoses

Remembering You On Your 21st

Today was supposed to be a happy occasion
It was to be a milestone in your life

It was supposed to be a big celebration
For you only turn 21 once in your life

But instead today we are sad
Because on this day greet you we cannot

We cannot call you up or text you
Even to give a simple hug or kiss we cannot

For you was too good an angel
So God needed you up there
He wanted you to be with him today

Thus, all we are left with are memories of you
Your bright smile, loud laugh, loud voice
Your beautiful face, your expressions

Enjoy your birthday with the others that went before
With the other angels in song
As you are surrounded by God’s warmth

We only have memories as treasures
This is the heartbreaking reality
So Oumait, we would like to say happy 21st
