Remembrance Day Yom Hashoah 5779 Poem by Shalom Freedman

Remembrance Day Yom Hashoah 5779

Rating: 5.0

I have tried to know and remember
What the Jewish people
Have been through-
It is so beyond me

I may not be much
But I did come to Israel-
I was in the Army
In my own small way-

We have survived
We have come back -

One aspect of the rebirth of Israel
Is many miracles of courage
Of mostly unknown people-

Thank God for those people
Thank God
I have had the privilege
to make my life here.

And still, They persecute and hate, A pinpoint of a land, However small, However great.
