Remote Possibility Poem by Barry Van Allen

Remote Possibility

For some unknown reason,
she gave herself to me,
I didn't know then why she slapped me,
... they ARE the damnedest creatures,
and yet we somehow can't get free !

I finally got it figured out,
... just the other day,
women need men they can't have,
thus, their need to make us change.

The moment that we do that for them,
is the moment they don't want us,
and the moment they don't want us,
will be the time we want them most.

Now, this is pure insanity,
like buying shoes she doesn't need,
or the way I say what I believe,
just knowing I'll get slapped for that!

When women understand their men,
and men can comprehend a woman,
it will be nobody's fault - - -
but, the world as we know it,
will come screeching to a halt!

... And we will all get thrown off into space!
... Then who will watch the kids,
and feed the pets?
