Replicating In You Poem by Olorunfemi Peters

Replicating In You

Loving you is different,
Nothing like I’ve ever experienced,
It’s now multifaceted,
Sweet and sour corn,
Bitter sweet pain,
Like an eagle, I brandished my claws battle ready,
Not authorized to act as I feel,
Constantly looking at the Masters love antics, then doing same,
Loving is no pineapple cream bread,
Not for the faint hearted, yet macho doesn’t cut,
The feelings and the emotions are but a fraction,
Vital but in itself common,
Loving you is getting to know me,
Adjusting, even when I’m right at the end,
Losing battles, winning the war, sharing the spoils,
Momentarily searching for an exit in a seamless room,
Learning to eat chicken everyday and loving it,
Knowing that God will never give up on me,
Chip of the same old Block I is.
