Reports From Morning Poem by Tom Squires

Reports From Morning

Rating: 5.0

Across the skyline
Buildings reach
Like great square teeth
For the grey
And rolling overcast
Some with new design
To accommodate the wind
Are not so claustrophobic
As they're older
More rooted counterparts
Of yellow brick
Dark in November rain
And orange cut with mortar
In silent stacks
Another pale yet hopeful morning

Another pale, yet hopeful morning. I like that. I also enjoyed this expression: Buildings reach like great square teeth. A fascinating poem, Tom.
