Restoration Poem by Jean Renwick

Restoration

Curious as a new leaf in its first dew,
here at last to drink the sight of you.
I wonder if I compare, under the same scrutiny.

My barriers have slowly fallen,
allowing comfort that has yet been foreign,
an embrace the like of none before it.

My life lay behind a wall called fear,
the direction lost, but becoming clear.
This connection, however strong, remains humble.

Now I see the world with different eyes,
no more need for secrets and lies.
Just a touch of your hand and I am saved.
