Retirement Poem by C R Clark

Retirement

At last, it’s here
Long awaited, anticipated
Dreamed about and planned for
And so meets two opposing emotions
Elation in the joy of the moment
And trepidation in the idea
Of, suddenly, being
Unemployed

Its said - True leisure of retirement Is when you repose without those passions. Dear poet, being humans Is it our cup of tea to shed off passions? So how you be unemployed? Look into the heart that preserves A schedule of events to occur. Gracefully go along with them You will never be unemployed. Thank you for kindling my thoughts through this poem.

You'll get used to it. In as much as I have always been one day away from being unemployed as my own boss, I understand the feelings.
