Reversing Expectations Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Reversing Expectations

We all are on the field of battle.
Good versus evil.
Hoping the reversing of expectations,
Beings to eliminate,
The right to be wrong.
And entitlements given,
When apologies received...
Demands an undeserving,
A forgiveness for intentional misdeeds.

Who started this needless war?
Just to prove an ignorance,
Should continue to be...
Supported and made adored.
With lies to tell,
On those innocent to expect...
Not to have some kind of revenge,
Returned to not accept...
Them to sit upset without regrets.

Being lied upon.
And condoning lives witnessed ruined.
To welcome and fear,
The effective spreading of stupidity.
Eventually has its limits to reach.
And those who preach the turning of cheeks,
With a kept belief...
The ones perceived as meek and weak.
Have for centuries deceived themselves.

These are not those days,
Anyone stays in fear to accept...
Negligence to live it and expect,
Has left no benefit...
That protects their quality of life.
Done to sit allowing ignorance,
More steps to spread while being led...
To a devastation man-made and created,
By fools believing themselves entitled...
To have the right to be wrong.
Then forgiven to demand...
Apologies from those,
They consciously victimized to do purposely!

Gone are those days,
Staying to pray away ignorance and stupidity...
As evil doers continue to do as they please,
Has left many getting up off their knees.
Realizing...
Evil to learn it taught to teach,
Leaves them the recipients.
And not the benefactors of the act,
To re-enact it.
Finally awakening to reverse expectations.
With truth...
As the only tool to use effectively.
