River How Are You Poem by sultan mahmud

River How Are You

One silent afternoon I asked the river -
River are you ok?
Where did you take your sail,
it didn't look like before
Do you drink the sea like before?
Intense desire to meet in the flow of love?
How are you river?
Where did you lose that stream of youth
Where to leave Bhatiali, Jari, Sari songs
Where is the boatman of Rangila Nao in your chest today
Where is the shy smile of the new bride Naori?
River tell me how are you?
Why does the shelf play so much on your body
Why bullock carts where there was thick water
Where have you left your identity?
Who did you mortgage your life to?
River are you crying If you show any water in the middle of so much water!
With difficulty, your chest is throbbing, when did you break your paws
You have no country, no tomorrow, no borders
But why cross dams, switchgates, barrages, dams in every country
They want to rule you!
You have become very disobedient, without big signs
So you need to rule
Behind the inhuman names of people
Greed for money, violence plays!
