Roses Poem by Elle Lazarus

Roses

I wake up to the morning, to find a rose petal on my bed.
I cried yesterday, now my eyes shine a cerulean depth.
As I look up, I see the picture of us as newlyweds.
The smell of roses is in my every breath.
There on the floor, I see a lone rose.
It was left there for me, I thought.
I pick it up and happiness seemed to flow.
These weren't roses that were bought.
They were made with the love I grew up with.
I only wish this moment wouldn't end, if only if.
