Rubber Chains Poem by Emily Slm

Rubber Chains

Laying
Cannot sleep
Wanting nothing but dreams
And still the sun doesn't yet rise
So I put on my rubber chains

Imagination soars
The feeling of air and feathers
Fills my chest
Hearing rumors of love
I feel that effort
in my veins

Then disappointment
Sadness
Cannot move
Barely holding on to control
Don't want to take off my rubber chains

I love my headphones

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was inspired by my headphone getting caught on a post. I thought; these are like Rubber Chains!
