Running Out Of Time Poem by Mary Rodriguez

Running Out Of Time

My world feels dark like I'm moving in slow motion
Always have tried to be steadfast and show my devotion
Things don't always happen; I think I finally understand
It's all been devised as part of God's plan
When hope seems lost; we need a change of heart
It's hard to achieve when you feel broken apart
A letter written to help you understand
Explaining what I was feeling as I devised my plan
No delusions or hopes in disguise
So many tears have fallen from my eyes
Hoping for the best but feel I'm running out of time
Waiting for a love that's impossible to find
Somewhere in the land between sleep and awake
I struggle with my thoughts; my heart it aches
Like a phoenix from the ashes I've risen this day
Gathering strength and wisdom; trying to be brave
Your words and memories are etched deep in my heart
I see them clearly even when we're worlds apart
It's often complicated but love is never a sin
It gives a sense of peacethat's felt deep within
We all have choices and doubts along the way
The biggest choice for some; is it worth it to stay?
