Sacrifices Disrespected Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sacrifices Disrespected

Winning that first race.
To wish and want this.
Done with time and patience given.
Begins to not end,
Overcoming those obstacles.
And more challenges to notice,
The many and diverse faces of them.
Attempting to prevent,
A winner earning to deserve...
Any attention given once to yearn.

And this 'before' to want and wish,
For anyone who displays...
Motivation, determination and discipline,
Is the last to expect...
Their sacrifices made,
To become subjected to receiving disrespect.
Although this to get,
Somehow provides an incentive to perform...
Better than their best.
Not even they suspected could be produced.
