Sacrifices For Our Country Poem by shannon wright

Sacrifices For Our Country

Rating: 5.0

Our love is just another casualty of war
I had no idea what it meant to love a soldier
But now I do- trial by fire- as it were
The 8000 miles that separate us
May as well be the distance from the earth to the moon
And when you get back home…
Home …
Wherever they send you is home
But they wont send you to me
There will be no victory here
Nevertheless, you are my hero and my rock.
My soldier, my soulmate and my one true love.
I guess we’ve both made sacrifices
For our country.
