Safe To Land Poem by Cheryl A. Caron

Safe To Land

On the edge
Staring down from
The ledge
Time is coming
To move things ahead
Body language
Speaks as loud as words
Strange behaviors
Clearly heard
A ticking time bomb
Ready to blow
Giving off signals
Letting me know
Communication barrier
Finally breaching
Stepping up
Constantly reaching
To hold that hand
And jump on three
Just like we planned
It’s you and me
Long way to the bottom
Don’t look down
No need to speak
I hear every sound
Your safety net
Is sewn in my heart
Jumping together
Is where we start
I swore I’d be here
It’s where I am
I won’t let you get hurt
It’s safe to land
