Soldiers travel far from native land
In search of peace and new find
Know nothing about secret mission
But go for peaceful ambition
No nation thrusts arbitrary imposition
Yet that becomes compulsion
To send men in uniform to far land
And receive their bodies as dead
What can we call about their sacrifice?
Does the nation want few promises?
For future generation and safe stay
At home for all those who expect it anyway
Soldiers never question about others loyalty
It is as good as submission to almighty
Land is holier than any other object
They have nothing in mind to react
“King does no wrong” same old song
That rings mind even if some thing goes wrong
Soldiers are there to stand by commitment
Even thought there may be heavy resentment
I salute and bow to their devotion
Whole of the nation stands with them as resolution
They are declared as martyrs and looked after
The nation is committed for their welfare offer

It’s heartening to see that people from all walks of life, including poets are sending their thoughts to the universe through virtual space or otherwise to question the survival of cold and insipid policies we haven’t been able to overcome, to respond to this artificially imposed truth which is a lie in a manner which had been overlooked so far. We certainly need to discuss, brainstorm and write more on this with patience, quiet and passion. Until the time we are able to see the light, yes the salute should be on. Thank you Sir for sharing this! Best regards, Supratik Sen, Hyderabad Jan 29,2014
