Salute To Funaab Poem by Olalekan Ololade Sobande

Salute To Funaab

O FUNAAB, possessor of a savings basket full of money
O FUNAAB, enfolded by honour.
Today in FUNAAB by tacit agreement
They will sing just one FUNAAB’s anthem
5. “FUNAAB, FUNAAB. Glory of our day”

My chant is a salute to FUNAAB
Let alone to the greatest Nigerian Students
So I’m proud to be a Funaabite
O FUNAAB, who one sees and point towards with all one’s fingers.
10. The Laziness boast at home is not repeated
When He really meets a Funaabite

This is part and parcel of a Great FUNAAB’s appellation.
If you wish to know FUNAAB; the Great FUNAAB
Who is a veritable, genuine and reliable University.
15. Great FUNAAB whom honour matches.

O FUNAAB, lord of the institutions, respectfully called a Great FUNAAB.
Valiant FUNAAB,
The stranger on whom the citizen of the town depends;
So that we may all of us get something to eat.
20. Father on whom I wholly depend.
Killer of hunger, my savior,
Father the slender arm full of kindness.

You must be from FUNAAB
I see it by the tick of your soul around the eyelashes,
25. And besides you are academically fit.
You must be from FUNAAB.

It is only the gods, who know why the bones were broken,
It’s only the olds who know why thy goats skip homeward at evening.
I will pronounce your name, FUNAAB.
I will reclaim you, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta.
