Scent Of A Lady Poem by Juan Olivarez

Scent Of A Lady

Rating: 5.0

Last night I awoke,
Everything was quiet,
And peaceful.
I sat up in bed,
And gazed at the clock,
On the nightstand.
my wife was lost in her dreams,
Peacefully by my side.
All of a sudden,
The room was filled with a delicate scent,
And it seemed to permeate the entire room.
The scent was everywhere,
I turned on the light,
So I could better see her picture,
On the night stand.
She smiled from the confines of the frame,
A painless smile,
A smile full of health and vigor.
my wife stirred and woke up,
She sat up in bed and said,
'Is that Taboo I smell? '
Then she turned to me and saw my tears,
And she said,
'She waS here again wasn't she? '
All I could do was nod.
