Treasure Island

Vaishnavi Singh

School days

The running legs with shoes and socks,
The sound of ringing bell,
The games in the beach of rocks,
Stories of school they tell.

The girl whom I hit,
The boy with whom I fought,
The teachers whom I greet,
Years after, the memories didn't rot.

Killing physics, boring chemistry,
Soothing maths, confusing geography,
Will be a mystery,
In my biography.

The tiffins we shared,
The pranks we played,
The spider we scared,
Were the memories made.

A leader's leadership,
A student's sincerity,
A friend's friendship,
Taught me humanity.
