Seasonal Offering Poem by Sven Rhoads

Seasonal Offering

Here we are again tonight
Stars, elements, and dear mother moon
You have seen so much I've bled
You've seen so much of my truth
Here and now, I make my offering to you

While the world is turning on fire
And I see the first shooting star of my life
Take me to where I truly belong
Teach me the lessons
So, I may be worthy on my way

The bloom of life to the peak of sun
I'm willing to sacrifice myself
There must be more than this
Leaves will paint until sweeping the dead
I'm baring my soul, nothing to hide
My home is out there somewhere

Grant safe passage to new kin
And the ones crossing the dark stream
Guide my blood through the battles
By Mother's bright white gleam

Oh fire, feed the desire
Oh ice, harden my will
Oh wind, teach of wisdom
Oh earth, keep me grounded
Oh stars, burn in the black
Oh, mother moon, right by my side
