Secret Poem by Joy Davis

Secret

Driving down this crooked road
travelling into a dark time
Our past long ago
from somewhere lost and forgotten
Recovering things thought long gone
hearing and saying secrets
So many lies and wondering why
mountains of hurt coming forth
Crying out desperatly
only inside a weary and broken heart
So rerected and so very alone
we find comfort and strength
In one so important
too lose would kill us both
A love and a best friend
more than anything in the world
Is a love only hidden
beneath so much hurt and sorrow
So finding out finally
Your care for me
Your love for her
Why the lies why the secrets
so much hurt building up inside
An ocean of love
between you and her
Only an increasing mountain
of distance seperating that love

I love her so much I could die
Don’t ever take her away from me
