See Her Poem by Brandi Lamson

See Her

See that girl whose clothing is as black as the night?
She is the one who stands out at school.
See that button on her back pack that says freak?
She truly believes she is a freak.

Always in the back corner seat of class room'
Always stays separated from the rest of the class.
She is a glass doll both physically and mentally.
She rarely displays any happiness until a vanilla scent
Travels up into her nose or when she feels like she fits in.

No one has heard her speak only her iPod blasting.
If you're ever to make contact with her skin its ice.
Slight bumps and scars travel up her arm as reminders of her past.
She constantly applies sweet cherry Chap Stick to her pale lips.

Rarely being outside her skin is a pale creamy color.
You've noticed many, many, many things about her.
She smells like black raspberries as she struts past you.
You figure out she hangs at the Skate Park and hot topic.
Two places she seems to fit in and where she is happy.

Do you see her, the girl who seems to never smile?
Well she does it's just a rare sight to see.
Do you see her, the girl with the sweet strawberry lollipop?
She always seems to have lollipops in her bag.
