Self Pleasing Self
that time
i bit my own tongue
and for the first time
on my life
i have tasted the salt of
my own blood
there is pain there
but there is that pleasure too
there is something that you
know you are losing or giving up
but somehow
assures you of the pleasurable taste
of that taking in
without having to cause harm
or waste the time
of another.
