Self Worth Severed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Self Worth Severed

Discriminating.
Is an image to pick.
Representing value to give it.
With a doing to confine,
This to division and isolation.
As if...
Attention is meant,
To shine on it to forever give.

Making it shown to highlight,
Its difference in appearance.
Proving with a doing,
What symbols to solicit.
With a praising,
To worship them does.
To the minds of people,
Severed from self worth.
Seeking purpose.
And patronizing,
The debasing of others.
Entertaining bigotry.
Hatred.
Done to spewed,
From mentalities manipulated.
Taught and raised to ignite,
The inviting of conflict.

Self worth!
Severed.
Its difference in appearance,
Isolated to highlight.
Then to make known,
A discriminating value.
With an intention meant,
For the attention to get.
With a teaching taught,
To ignite an inviting...
Of conflict establishes,
A sought feeling...
Of importance!
That achieves...
That missing self worth,
To comfort!
