I was born in Mahe, where the sun first touched my face
I took my first breathe and the spices of Seychelles flowed inside my blood
The wind blew from the Indian Ocean and kissed my face for the very first time
I was born among the water people in the most beautiful island in the world

There is only one place my heart yearns to be
Where the sun colored my skin gold
Where I dance Lewa sega under the coconut trees

I close my eyes; I can see the beauty of Beau Vallon surrounding me
By the sea is where my soul longs to be
My island home, my island home my heart is calling for you

I fell in love with a man, and he made me wild
He danced with me under the sunset of Anse Boileau
His beautiful face is in Mahe, he promised me he will be waiting for me in the corner of Mountain Pose.
I saw the tears fell from his eyes as he kissed me goodbye under the silver moon of Anse-Aux-Pins.

I close my eyes and I can feel the sea washing my feet
Oh lord, I hear the beating drums of Sega
The most beautiful melody, creole tune my body moves to the rhythm
My island home is calling for me

I am oceans apart from my Island
I feel the wind of Anse Royal pulling me
My heart aches to see my home
I can still taste the salty water upon my lips
I can still hear the waves crashing against the rocks

My island home is calling for me
I long to feel the sun upon my skin
I yearn to dive in Eden's water

I am a creole Islander, I am a Seychellois
There is a place in the world that you never forget and when you leave it aches in your heart

My island home my heart is calling for you
My island home you are the most beautiful in Africa
I close my eyes and I am swimming in the sea again

The ocean I call upon you, please wrap me in your waves and sail me to my island home

Oh my island home I am calling for you
