Shadow Poem by Rose Walker

Shadow

Lost in darkness,
stuck in a spot,
for chains hold me down,
Only one single shot.

What to do now?
I shed a single tear,
but there's no one around,
to shatter my fear.

I'm just a shadow,
up on the wall,
no one to help,
if I take a fall.

I'm just a shadow,
I cannot sing,
hope is failing,
my fear on a throne like a king.

What to do now?
With hope crippling,
my wits crumble,
my life crimping.

Lost in darkness,
my soul yearns
for daylight,
though the sun burns.
