Light falling
On an opaque object
Casts a shadow
On surface behind.
Object itself
Is bright on one side
It's all dark
On the opposite.
Glowing sun
Lights up turning earth
Giving us
Familiar night and day.
Moon as well
Goes through phases
As it turns around
The earth in a month.
Some times at full moon
Earth's shadow envelopes
And covers the moon
Resulting in lunar eclipse.
Moon in new moon phase
May cast its shadow on earth
Brings darkness at day
We call it the fiery solar eclipse.
Many suns
Exist in the universe
So are many
Planets and moons.
How many are
Sun-like stars in the universe?
How many moons
And planet-like objects?
How many sources?
How many cast shadows?
How many eclipses?
How frequent? All are challenges.
An object is clearly
Identified by shadow it casts
As one keeps on moving
One's shadow follows to the end.

A beautiful poem. Even the moon has its dark side... light and shadow go side by side.
