Shadows Poem by Late Sunrise

So soft and warm was the daylight,
In the sun of the blue African sky,
But my thoughts never ceased to fly,
They dreamed of endless time at your side.

So beautiful were the songs of the birds,
Colorful, as a happy music in the breeze,
But how I missed the tone of your words,
In those I ever found love and peace.

So shining in the darkness, so bright,
The stars illuminate the sky tonight,
But in my long and lonely night,
I am crying for your embrace so tight.

So restless I will try to fall asleep,
My arms will be looking for you,
My body aching in a desire so deep,
For my heart only needs to love you.
