Shamanic Drumming Poem by doug bentley

Shamanic Drumming

Rating: 4.5

you see,
what the alien
overlooks

is the lion
by the brook,
tiger in tree,

lily under toe.

we're a tribe
tied to earth
and though

new to Gaia
have friends

loyal to our ends
who'll leap to our defence
if and when duty calls

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I am reminded of some Indian tribes practising shamanism! It is through drumming and dancing, they invoke the spirits! Only a tribe tied to the Earth can have such friends, more loyal than the friends got through Gaia! This poem evokes memories of heathen practises and age old mores! !
