Shared Beauty Poem by Sophia Borger

Shared Beauty

Walk into the garden
Sit beside the pond
Smell the fragrance of the flower
Hear the enchanting bird call,
Watch the fish in the water
Swimming around and around
The Glory of the Lily
Sitting on its water pad.
Squirrels scurry up the tree
Across the limbs they go.
Katydid are calling
Are the talking to you and me?
A soft-soft mist is in the air
Giving each fern--each living thing,
Morning's drink--and washing.
No other place could be so grand
So breathless to my eyes
For I am not alone,
This beauty is shared
With my friend.
