Shattered Poem by Anastasia Onyinye Donatus

Shattered

Rating: 5.0

The mirror who was once her only friend
Turns into an enemy
Staring, searching, confused
Yet she can't find herself
Look more deeper and welcome positivity
Her mum had said
I can't see positivity, all I see is shattered negativity smiling at me
She had always replied
Her tears seems to never dry
Crying was her only escape
Maybe I am just a shadow
This shattered me is the real me
She said.
Silence arrives and stays between her and her mum
Pain in a shattered outfit
Accepting pain and silence
When she speaks no one cares to listen
So she made silence her friend, accepting the shattered version of herself.
