the glorious Wind
Twining playfully
through her dark tresses
her curls of mahogany
dancing to a song
only the wind knows

starlight and streetlights
moonlight and firelight
all pay homage to her
turning her human skin
and simple human body
into mythical lure
shadows and dreams
written in the half seen
planes of her face

tearing open a path
to my isolated heart
with gentle violence
with the simple movement
of a small, quiet smile
that tips and curls
her shadowed lips
into possibilities
new unseen secrets
that, having seen her,
unfurl in my mind

slowly, slowly
a dance that spreads
onward and outward
contagiously carried
by the wind
to any and all within
sight, sound and smell
of her vivacious essence
her wondrous presence
irresistible
inescapable
we join her dance
we follow her steps

For she is life
and we are alive
