She And Kahlil Poem by Alexandre Nodopaka

She And Kahlil

I offer this memento
of our brief amicable exchanges
as a tangible relief from the
Indian heat, sweat and noise.

I silently press them between
the pages of his prophetic writing.

And when with charcoal
you reveal your mysteries
do not blame the cinder
for exposing them to me.
