She Is Loved Poem by Brian Nyakundi

She Is Loved

SHE is loved.
The way he gazes at her
His lingering smiles
His unnecessary glances
Show it all.

She is loved.
Her brain feigns ignorance
Her face shows indifference
But her heart cannot pretend
Against his love.
She is enclosed.

She didn't know
What hit her
How it came to pass.
Patient like a rock he was
Intent was his purpose.
Determination his torso.

She is in love.
Wondering just how
He is drowning,
She is falling...
They are alone,
Against all.

He is locked
In her pump muscle.
She is engulfed
In his being
Both entangled
In this dream.

She is loved
He is loved.
That remains so
For She is He
He is She.
She is you
He is me.
You or me.
Nothing more obvious.
