She Longs Poem by Randy Squire

She Longs

She lies awake at night
Thinking about her day
Mistreated and abused
But still continues to stay
She so longs to be loved
But she's so use to the pain
She don't want to hurt no more
But still dances in the rain
She cries late at night
She can't take it no more
She don't wanna surrender
So she just stares at the door
She longs to be held
By a hand that truly cares
She wants the one beside her
So he stays in her prayers
She dreams of love and happiness
as she stands behind his word
She hopes for love and passion
But gets nothing that she heard
He promised her happiness
And maybe a helping hand
But all she gets is anguish
That you can't understand
Keep your head up girl
You don't need him anyway
You really do it on your own
And there's nothing he can say
