She Stands Alone Poem by James Darwin Smith II

She Stands Alone

She stands alone
Living inside her own mind
People think of her as conceited
Yet, in reality she is drowning
Inside her own emotions

Sadness within
All smiles on the outside
So lonely and afraid
Feeling so fragile inside

She wants to scream out loud
To a world she keeps leaving behind
But all is silent
Cannot take it anymore
As she confesses to herself
"If only the earth would let me go"

Nature, she loves
Hope, she mourns
Stuck in a wasteland of terror
Crying tears silent tears
Of haunted confusion

Her eyes have gazed millions of miles
Only to seize hearts of stone
Dead peeks of nothingness
Voids left hanging in empty promises

So much pain
Too strong to let go
Fighting on and on
Eyes of water fallen grief
Left to die and all alone

Who is she?
Judge not but feel
This beauty left in the cold
Amongst a world full of harsh decisions

She stands alone
A nomad within her own mind
Judged for being the things she is not
Everything is a lost cause
Her emotions too powerful
As she wishes they all would just die

With a pure heart
She could never hurt a fly
Never will any pain make her angry
The only emotion she really knows is sadness
Wishing for the day of her own demise

Unknown to all
Stuck in self-regret
Forever in agony
If only the world truly knew
How beautiful she really is

Who is she?
What is she?
I suppose it is all up to a heart to truly decide

All she ever wanted is to be kept alive
But here I am right by her side
If only she could see me
Because I truly know where she truly comes from

She stands alone, Alive
Living a sad life, dead inside
Hurting ever so badly
I know this because I feel it all

She stands alone
