Shine Poem by Margarita Cortés

Shine

I broke and found myself facing a darkness
Lonely and afraid I realized I had two choices
I let myself disappear
Or I shine
Shine I did
Sometimes a little dull
Sometimes while on my knees
But I shine
Sometimes with tears running down my face
I still shine
Like a sunny yet rainy day...
I shine

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
After a marriage and relationship of over two decades I found myself betrayed and betrayed again and again.I chose to divorce and found myself losing so much.My name dragged through the mud I had such an awakening.I had never been in such a dark lonely place, I searched within myself and found a light I never knew existed.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is a fantastic poem of inner strength, confession and beautiful sincerity. Written, immaculately, we are fascinated by the very deep, painful feelings and how well they are communicated and presented. Your descriptions are poetically, so attractive and your poem architecturally and sentimentally perfect. Few better have I read.
