Shining Bright Poem by Trisha White

Shining Bright

You were always my star that shone so bright,
you led me through the night.
Held me in your arms tight,
It always felt so right.
You up and left with no goodbye,
you left me here to cry.
Now I sit and wonder why,
you left me here to die, alone.
Don't worry though I'll hold my throne,
sticks and stones may break my bones,
but momma was always right when she told me I'm better off alone.
Now I'm the shining light,
that you wish you had to guide you tonight.
