Show Me Poem by Trisha White

Show Me

I'm taking the backseat
So I guess they got me beat.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do,
I feel like I'm running in goo.
Stuck in place,
always finding fears to face.
They do things I don't,
They deal with things that I won't.
I try to stay clean,
Then I'm the one thats being mean.
I keep my life straight,
that way no one can name my fate.
You don't understand,
that's okay I'll take the stand.
I'm not changing my mind,
maybe you'll understand within time.
I do whats best to me,
Maybe you don't see.
Im not going to keep waiting,
I'm not ending things I'm just saying.
You say one thing but show me another,
I hate having to sound like your mother.
You say you're changing for me,
but honestly right now i just don't see.
Won't you show me you will take the risk for me,
Can't you show me youre trustworthy?
Don't you see I'm tired of the games,
they've grown pretty lame.
I just gotta know one thing am i worth it to you?
Is what all you tell me really true?
Honestly I don't know so its up to you,
You've gotta show me the truth.
