Ship On Desert Poem by Custous Angelus

Ship On Desert

I used to be a magnificent being
A great beauty I truly was
People looked up to me
Wealthy man admired me
Little children worshipped me
But time passed
Ocean became dessert
Ports became abandoned
I still stand at my port
Now no longer as grand as I once were
I still am who I am
But the environment is not what it was
I lost my job
I lost my worth
There are no people who admire me
I am a ship on desert
I cannot move
I live in my past’s shadowa
