Shirodhara: Ayuravedic Treatment, Sri Lanka Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Shirodhara: Ayuravedic Treatment, Sri Lanka

Calm comes to my brow
Where scented oil
Is warmed and steadily poured in a blissful stream

Peace closes round me like a cocoon
Thoughts drift off like clouds
I am fully relaxed and quiet. Time is a balloon

Now, age disappears
No grief, no worry, no bitterness
No me, no not-me

I am a water lily
Floating and forgetting
I would like to stay like this forever
Like cherry blossom resting on a breeze
On the cusp of sleep, an unresisting feather
