Should Be Dreaming Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Should Be Dreaming

In the middle of the night
I find myself
wide awake...
Thinking
when I should be dreaming

Unsuccessfully convincing
myself to relax
Trying to clear my mind
of unsettling thoughts
Searching for slumber

Turning to a winter scene
outside my window
The pristine snow
is calming and still
erasing restless images…
