Should You Push Me Away Poem by cebolenkosi kubheka

Should You Push Me Away

Should you push me away
Even just for a day
Know that I'd find a way
To live away
From you
And never come your way

Should you hold on so firmly to me
That I feel the warmth of your touch
So an emotional attachment forms
Suddenly, should you lift your hand up
And release me into the air
not caring whether
I fall, or I grew
Wings and flee

Should you choose to abandon
What we have
should you hire a bulldozer
To crush what we have built so far
I'd crawl to a hole
And lick my wounds
Till they need licking no more
