Shutdown Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Shutdown

There needs to be a lip shutdown too
Of sheer Unkindness and of Malice,
Vicious words that only harm and do
Nothing good to the harvest of Peace.

People spread hurtful words that sting
Like darts of anger thrown out randomly,
Yet in the universe these gray everything
To birth some Conflict quite predictably.

The tongue is a small part of the body
Yet it can cause much damage, even War-
A little spark that starts a fire easily,
It ruins lives with wounds that leave a scar.
