Sick Poem by Paige DeRogatis

Sick

Constantly pleading, I'm throwing a fit
For I can't ever fill up this bottomless pit.
A flashy persona, typical primadonna
I swat away help screaming 'Go away' ' I don't wanna! '
Spoonfeed me medicine, I'll spit in your face
Then beg for forgiveness and command for your grace
Maybe I must lose it all just to learn
Never once the recipient of anything stern
The grim reaper is dialing,
I'm sick but I'm smiling,
Lost track of the infinite lies I'm compiling
Flirting with danger, dancing with death
I scoff as I take my potential last breath
Now I'm breathing down my best friend's throat
Searching through pockets of my father's coat
Investment plans buzz through my head
But how can I earn cash if I can't leave my bed?
The alarm clock rings but the devil sings much louder
Sloth holds me hostage and I become prouder
I've found the gateway to the deadly sins
A fool, I'm the lost one who thinks that she wins.
