Sickness Poem by Richard Ikolo

Sickness

Sickness, what's wrong with you?
Must you at all costs claim another life?
Mama's gone? Oh, it can't be true!
Your deadly activities are becoming rife.

You killed Uncle barely a year ago.
It's been mourning for the entire family.
We all kept quiet, speechless and let go.
Take the bull by the horn and act quickly.

How long shall we watch helplessly,
Without our permission and consent,
Snatch our loved ones from us hurriedly?
When will you of this atrocity repent?

You have eaten your last meal forever!
Never again would we allow you in!
No amount of pleading whatsoever,
Why did man ever let you in through sin?
