Sigh Of The Sea Poem by Eric Rhodes

Sigh Of The Sea

Rating: 3.5

Sigh of the Sea

Sometimes it's fleeting,
like the glitter of phosphorescence
in the sea on a moonlit night.
Other times steady,
like the rising of the sun
and you stay with me
throughout the day.

When night comes,
as always,
I wrap the blankets
of your memory
around me, tight,
pressing the last drops
of your warmth
against my nakedness.

I lay here, bleached white
like driftwood on this beach,
watching the sea advance, breathlike,
towards my longing gaze.
Occasionally in the
satisfied sigh of the sea
your spark reminds me
you are always there.
